How Far in Advance Should You Book Your Wedding Suppliers?

One of the biggest mistakes couples make is assuming suppliers will “probably be free”.
They often aren’t.
A Realistic Booking Timeline
As a general guide:
Venue: 12–24 months
Photographer / Videographer: 12–18 months
Entertainment (including a Yorkshire wedding magician): 9–18 months
DJ / Band: 9–12 months
The more experienced the supplier, the earlier they tend to book up.
Why Good Wedding Suppliers Limit Bookings
Professional wedding suppliers only take one wedding per day. Many also limit annual bookings to avoid burnout - which means availability disappears quickly.
Booking Early Reduces Stress
When suppliers are secured early:
Planning feels calmer
You have more choice
Your timeline can be built properly
It also allows your suppliers to work with each other to make your day flow smoothly.
